TOOB 10”-12” BASS AND FULL-RANGE

Bass cabinets used to be closed, wasting half of the speaker’s energy. Even against the current crop of tuned-port enclosures, our half-open bass cabinets border on heresy. Why do we break “iron rules” and conventions again?

First, our TOOB 10B and 12B are loud for the size and wattage, offering up to 70% weight savings. Second, their tone is rich and musical, with ample harmonic content. Third, they are modular and versatile, with the option of playing in vertical position. All this has made them a favorite among double bass players, who need amplification to enhance their instrument’s own voice.

Bass guitar is different: often louder and totally dependent on amplification. Increasingly a solo instrument. We have ears in the rock’n’roll community and now have two new models for electric bass: the compact and lightweight TOOB 10EB, and the hefty 12EB handling up to 400W. More bottom punch but still a broad frequency range making them also suitable for e.g. jazz guitar, even keyboards. The secret of the sound is hidden inside their felt-ported architecture.

Looking ahead, the demand for full-range (FR) speakers has increased, thanks to the needs of the modeling amp/IR community. The TOOB 12F cabinet is our answer. We also envisage an integration between bass and FR speakers and will keep a keen eye on the process.
